Shri Dadamaharaj Natekar Morya Trust Vannprushashram is a Vruddashram commonly known as 'Old Age Home' built in Chikali, Pune Dist. by late Shri Dadasaheb alias Laxman Shankar Limaye in memory of his spiritual Guru Shri Dada Maharaj Natekar.
Shri Limaye had a dream for almost 40 years during his service to build a care home as he could not provide best medical care to his parents due to lack of resources. He purchased land at Chikali in 1994 and started the Ahsram in 1998. He passed away in 2005 after completion of his long desired dream.
This Old Age Home is built by a man of vision to provide solace to those who wish to live a dignified life rather than live a remorseful life. Equipped with a dining room, a library, music room and prayer hall, this Ashram provides all round encouragement to the inamtes to spend their time in peace. There is also a School and play ground in the campus.
Shri Narayan Balkrishan Marathe, Age:92 years, a super-senior citizen. He stayed at the Ashram for 10 years. He says it is better to stay at a place which is cultured.
Shri Eknath Kolhe, Age:75 years. He has been staying at the Ashram for 6 years. He has a set daily routine and is happy to be staying at this Ashram.
Sow.Vandana Unde. She has been staying at the Ashram for some time now. She has taken the initiative of joining school and upgrading her knowledge..
Started in 2005, Shri Dadamaharaj Natekar Panchakoshadharit School located in the campus of the Ashram provides Marathi Medium education to students from KG to Xth Standard. It has Science steam with an in-built laboratory, a library, and a huge playground.
The faculty is from PCMC area and qualified for the job like D.Ed upto std.VIIth and B.Ed. for standards from VIIIth to Xth.
The Trustees believe in providing quality education to needy students at the lowest cost. There are two hostels viz., one for the Adivasy children who are studying in nearby English Medium School Prajnyan Bodini and the second hostel for students studying from IIIrd Std to Xth Standard sponsored by AIM for Seva.
Shri Dada Maharaj Natekar Trust manages two hostels and for the third, has leased some land for free of charge to AIM for Seva. They have built a free hostel for Boys.
Among the three hostels in the campus, one hostel i.e., Shabari hostel is for boys from nearby Adivasi areas like Dahanu, Jawar and Palghar areas. The second is for girls from economically poor families and the third is managed by AIM for Seva under auspices of Swami Dayanand Saraswati organisation.
Hostels mainly offer accommodation to the needy students.
Located in the campus of the Ashram, they have been provided with the infrastructure like the School Building, power supply, water etc. by the Trust. They initially plan to function for a period of 2 years and decide on the future continuance thereafter as they have plans to have their own premises. The college conducts different courses.
A playground is also provided next to the College premises.
